My name is Zuzana Krajča, and I deal with individual and couple psychotherapy. Psychotherapy once saved my life and helped me to become a balanced and empathetic person. I have been helping others for over 17 years, and I cannot imagine a more meaningful mission for myself. In those 17 years, I have been through many educational programs and trainings in Non-violent Communication, facilitation, Gallup's Personality Strengths Method and more. Education is a never-ending process for me.

I believe that problems and troubles can be solved, and we don't have to dwell on them. Psychotherapy is a way to work on them.

In addition to therapy and couples therapy, I am also involved in adult education and mentoring. I am currently employed in HR. I have experience in large companies, startups, international environments and Czech teams. You can listen to me on the podcast Po HRstech (in Czech only), which I create. I also practice yoga.

I am a member of the Czech Association for Psychotherapy, the largest association of psychotherapists in the Czech Republic with more than 1,700 members.

  • Psychotherapy is a therapeutic process that is designed to treat mental and emotional difficulties. It aims to help people improve their mental health and well-being. It can be directed at addressing a specific problem, such as anxiety or depression, as well as personal development and growth or increasing self-esteem. The process involves conversations and interactions between the therapist and client, focusing on identifying and addressing (emotional) issues that may be affecting the client's quality of life and functioning.

    The therapy is strictly confidential.

  • A therapy session with me lasts 60 to 90 minutes. How much time we spend together and how often we see each other depends on the issue the client comes with and our mutual agreement. The frequency of sessions is most often once every week or two, but can be more frequent if the issue needs intensive work, or more sporadic if it is already a long-term issue. A joint meeting can then last from a few sessions to several years.

    Even feelings and experiences change in the course of working together. Sometimes, the client might feel relief and a surge of energy after a meeting; other times, nothing much seems to happen, and sometimes, they might feel worse. This is a normal part of therapy. There may be negative feelings at the beginning from realising what the problem is, but after identifying the causes, there is a period in which relief comes with the unravelling of the problem and its active resolution.

  • Yes. There is a lot of research that examines the effectiveness of psychotherapy and provides data on its effectiveness in treating a variety of mental and emotional problems. Aggregate analyses show that the effectiveness of the therapy in the long term varies between 60 and 80%. Of course, it depends a lot on the topic the client comes up with, the chosen method, the client's motivation, and the quality of the therapeutic relationship.

  • Couples therapy is a type of psychotherapy that directly focuses on helping both partners in their relationship. Whether it's about harmonizing your relationship, aligning your needs, improving communication or helping you solve problems, couples therapy can bring new hope to your life together.
